MYO Gandia | Snorkelling in Gandia: enjoy the sea this September
September doesn’t mean it’s time to put away your beach gear just yet.
In Gandia, we’re still enjoying perfect days by the Mediterranean, and now that the busy August season is starting to slow down, it can be the perfect time to try something different: put on a mask and snorkel and discover what lies beneath the surface.
Over the past few days, we’ve been talking about snorkelling on our Instagram and asking you a question: are you team full-face mask or do you prefer the classic mask-and-snorkel set?

Full-face mask or mask and snorkel: which one should you choose?
Both options are great for enjoying snorkelling, but the experience is a little different:
The EASYBREATH mask covers almost the entire face and offers a 180° panoramic view, while also allowing you to breathe naturally through both your nose and your mouth. This makes it especially comfortable for beginners or for anyone who simply wants to explore the seabed at a relaxed pace.
The traditional mask and snorkel set, on the other hand, is less bulky, gives you greater freedom of movement and is a practical choice for those who snorkel more regularly. This type of kit also makes it easier to enjoy short dives below the surface.
There isn’t one option that is better for everyone. The most important thing is to choose equipment that fits well and feels comfortable.
3 tips if you’re trying snorkelling for the first time
Start in a calm area close to the shore. You don’t need to go far to start enjoying the underwater world.
Try your equipment before getting into the water. Make sure the mask fits properly and take a few minutes to get used to breathing with it.
Choose the right time of day. Early morning is often a good option, as there tends to be less activity and the sea is usually calmer.

And above all, remember that the goal isn’t to go very far: sometimes all it takes is looking beneath the surface to discover a completely different Mediterranean from the one we see from the shore.
A plan near Gandia
If you feel like putting it into practice, a trip to the Cullera Lighthouse area and its small coves can be a perfect plan for a September morning.
Rocky spots, the Mediterranean Sea and an ideal setting to combine a bit of snorkelling with a walk by the coast. All you need to do is prepare your gear, check the sea conditions beforehand and make a little space in your schedule.
Because getting back into the routine doesn’t mean giving up all your summer plans at once.

September still feels like summer
A morning at the beach, some snorkelling and then a walk along the coast can be a great way to keep enjoying September.
