Do you know what kind of booster seat your child needs?
As children grow, there comes a time when they start to outgrow certain child seats, and a very common question arises: what type of booster seat does my child need?
With a backrest, without a backrest, with ISOFIX… choosing well is important so that the seat belt is positioned correctly and the child travels comfortably and safely.

Booster seat with backrest
It's a very comprehensive option because it helps maintain the correct seatbelt position and offers additional head and body support. Furthermore, it provides greater side impact protection and is often a good choice during the transition from a child car seat.
Backless booster seat
It's more compact, lighter, and easier to transfer from one car to another. Current models are designed for children who have already reached a certain height, so it's always advisable to check the specific instructions for each product before using it.
Booster seat with ISOFIX
There are also models with ISOFIX anchors , which allow you to attach the booster seat directly to the vehicle for a more stable installation. The choice will depend on the child's height, the vehicle, and the type of restraint system needed at each stage.
Height matters more than age
When choosing a car seat or booster seat, we shouldn't focus solely on age. The child's height is one of the most important factors in determining the appropriate child restraint system and ensuring the seatbelt is correctly positioned.
Booster seat with backrest: many models are approved approximately for children from 100 to 150 cm , although you should always check the specific range of the model.
Backless booster seat: the current R129 models sold by Norauto are normally designed for children from 125 to 150 cm , approximately between 7 and 12 years old .
Did you know?... In Spain, children 135 cm or shorter must use an appropriate child restraint system. From 135 cm, they can use the vehicle's seat belt, although the DGT (Spanish Directorate General of Traffic) recommends continuing to use a suitable child restraint system until they reach 150 cm if the seat belt is still not properly positioned.

And this year there's one more reason to celebrate 🎉
Talking about road safety makes even more sense this year, because Norauto celebrates its 40th anniversary in Spain in 2026 , four decades accompanying drivers and families on their journeys.
A journey in which vehicles, technology and safety systems have evolved a lot, but there is something that remains fundamental: traveling safely.
Congratulations on 40 years, Norauto! 🚗🎂
